Voluntary work abroad and volunteer education opportunities

A volunteer teaching
You can take part in volunteer education opportunities with Projects Abroad PRO. Our education and teaching projects are all based in the developing world. They are perfect for recent graduates, retired seniors or teachers on a career break or sabbatical.
We work with a range of local partners, including primary and secondary schools, universities, drama groups and IT centres. For example, you could get involved as a volunteer science teacher abroad in Mexico. Alternatively, you could volunteer as a pe teacher abroad in Ethiopia. You can see all of the available options on the left navigation menu.
These projects are planned and designed so that you get to work with local professionals. You will be expected to exchange your knowledge and experience. This peer to peer contact is the best way of ensuring that your work has a long-term benefit.
Volunteer education abroad

A volunteer teaching
Education remains one of the best ways to combat poverty by enabling people in developing countries to better understand the world. It also provides a platform for self-empowerment. Your work will mainly involve sharing best practice and suggesting areas for improvement.
Volunteers with a skill or qualification can play a huge role in this process. You may want to get involved at the front of the class, teaching English, maths or science. Alternatively, you may be interested in training local teachers. We will help you find the most suitable placement that matches your skills and experience.
You can see all of the available education projects on the left navigation menu at the top of this page.
If you cannot find an education project here that fits your skills, please contact us. We will try to arrange something that matches your area of expertise. You can give us a call on:
